I don’t think we should belittle someone’s challenges by comparing them to other issues people face, in other parts of the world. It also doesn’t mean men are not oppressed too, as this is not the point of the article. (but maybe you can find an answer here, and I’m reluctant it relates to oppression … http://blogs.wsj.com/economics/2013/02/22/why-men-are-more-likely-to-drop-out/) So rather than criticizing the person here, what is your actual opinion on encouraging young females to pursue science (or whatever), if they so want to? What’s your take on women being told that, by default, their life purpose is to get married and have children? (these questions also apply to men, but they are not as often encountered as for women) I believe these aspects are more important to address than just throw insults at one.
